Pliaj puts out the fire. We question him. New resident say it is best he stays away. Zombies originally came looking for Myra, new guy turned adventurers to zombies. He is a wereboar. He is stealing the cows instead of killing villagers. Discussion with wereboar indicates that Myra was bag of bones in back. Promise him lycanthropy cure. He is unconvinced. Prisoner (Vilio) is also infected - has been bitten multiple times.  Part of adventurers group hired by Myra’s family.

Pliaj executes the wereboar. His clothes are pretty ruined and dirty.

Straff investigates the wereboar’s room. There is a carving of a waterfall done by many people. Chest with women’s clothing & journal. Other chest with men’s clothes and other effects. Under bed find coins, silver flask, wooden figurines of forest animals, mummified hand, spellbook.

Journal is Myra’s. Nothing interesting/relevant. Last entry is from 7 months ago.

Tholir looks at skeleton. In rags, might have been a dress. Skeleton does have healed broken arm, like Myra did. Altar room is probably a meditation room.

Behind the waterfall, there is a cave with a smashed portal/gate. Runes are same as in Westmarch. Most of teleportation pads in world have been lost. Nature carvings on the wall as record of previous residents of hermitage. Names including Myra (under oak and mole). Pliaj takes a bit of the rubble that has runes on it.

Vilio – has been in the cell for > 2 months. Told that he should be turning in to a monster soon, but hasn’t. Originally from the town of Dulwich – he ran from a despotic mayor. 4 days south of Westmarch. Pliaj binds him. Finds an intact teleportation stone. Spoke to woodworker, who wanted high-quality wood (good woodsmarts).

We get back to Barlow. First to Thefen’s house. Confirms there was a teleportation pad that was there before the dwarves came. The mine was small, redcaps came from forest. Thefen looks at rubbing of cave wall, confirms they are hermit signatures.

Talk to Arvo. Will feed us. Rest for the night at his house.

Go to find Haila down at the distillery. Overhears him bragging about solving pie thief mystery. Pliaj then spins the tale of our daring victory. Various townspeople confirm that names were previous hermits.

Next morning – stopped by bartender. Asks us to come to distillery. Gives us a +1 pike. First day of travel uneventful.

Second day of travel. Vilio wakes up yelling in pain on second watch. Ral casts lesser restoration on him, seems to help him.

Third day of travel. Some lycanthropes can turn at will, but changed by full moon. Two types – one is natural (unknown origin), one is infected lycanthropy. Can’t create others. Come across a cleared circle in the forest with a backpack. No one obviously there. Name on axe – Derwood. Taken by Pliaj.

Fourth day of travel. Headed down game path and hear noises in brush. We slay two goat-like creatures with resistance to non-magical weapons. Search of bodies reveals nothing. They were dissecting a fey. We take it back with us to Westmarch.
