On the search for Mira in the hermitage by Barlow. Pass through farms to wall. The forest is damaged from dragon blasts. Soldiers and conscripted labor clearing forest to west of city. Walking along lake.

First night: Patrick (Straf), Mark (Pliaj), Mike (Tholir). Mark sets up a bell on a string at camp.

Straf is obsessed with adventure. Gets bored easily.

Pliaj Nempharos – light red, silver eyes, tiefling. Double horns. Closely aligned with Duke Sigmund.

Day 2

Start to come across low stone walls, partially buried dome and statue. Worn down by 1000 years. Pliaj searches statue and finds a metal piece. Finds compartment underneath statue. Pulls handle, out comes a fancy dagger with wavy edge. The styling is ANCIENT. But it is in pristine. It is magical, weak abjuration. Rest easy, uneventful night.

Day 3

Get through marshes and reach grasslands. Excitement on 3rd watch. Find two knolls. One wearing hides, one wearing chain mail shirt, have hyena pup. Carrying backpacks.

We let them pass. We eat a rabbit for breakfast. Make it by mid-afternoon. Humans, dwarves, silvens (not keen on tiefling). Haila Lothsprite is the seeming leader of town. Doesn’t think Myra is alive. (Pliaj lies about his name). No one has heard from Myra. The new guy is the new hermit (doesn’t know name). He’s not so nice. Other strangers came through last month looking for Myra. Wouldn’t help with investigations.

In Barlow

Haila wants help with cattle rustlers. Start with Casayla the mayor. Then speak with the farmers. No inn, burned down. Last 4 months of trouble. Cattle problem coincides with Myra’s disappearance. 1 per month.

Find a dryad sleeping in the tree. Casayla says the new hermit smells funny/bad. He is not welcome in town. Casayla doesn’t seem to care about the cattle rustling.

Going to Arvo Varilas house. Head of council and best farmer. Village was originally a druid community. 100 years ago the dwarves arrived with trouble on their minds (from where hermitage is). The dwarves were chased here by redcaps (violent fey). Burned down inn. Irna the woodworker is trying to spark trade.

Arvo – other animals including sheep and pigs. Sometimes out of field and barns. His take on the new guy. He’s trouble. Foul-tempered, yelling in the woods. Human, but dressed in ragged clothes, a well-manicured beard. Old Thefen Granitehelm is the elder dwarf.

Tholir and Pliaj make it over to the inn ruins. Nothing but trash. Make it to Thefen’s lovely old house. Irna is so headstrong. Doesn’t work within humans’ system. Always pushing for more timber and better goods. Same with distillery, wanting rye and wheat for whiskey. The miller Vorman.  Thefen used to go out to hermitage to have tea with Myra. 5-6 months gone.

Straf at the barn – Off to the side of the barn, can see track of flattened grass leading off to the north. Cow tracks leading off to north from field.

Haila runs up searching for a stolen pie.
