We are approached by a merchant who gives us a rumor about a local community of centaurs who needs help — their water source has been fouled, and they need adventurers to investigate.

OTW, we encounter a storm, and a group of bugbears runs past us, one badly acid-burned. We kill the straggler and rob him of 50 gp worth of jewelry. The storm opens up, and it the rain reeks of offal and decay. It begins to hurt us as we run for cover! Blobs of ooze begin to form around the party.

We find the centaur camp, and they assign us a scout, a three-legged centaur named Henrick, and lead us to their lake. It is foul and an island has risen in the center. We repair a raft to try to cross, but Zofie can’t master the raft properly. Henrick helps her and all reach the island.

There is a kind of tomb on the small island in the center of the lake. Three creatures with lashing tongues and mottled rubbery skin rise from the water and attack! The party deals with them, killing all three, but a creature comes from the mausoleum — an undead being with a crown, who calls himself Asharion Voss. One of the party, Jon’s character, remembers that Asharion Voss was an elf, a magic-user and follower of the goddess Hecate.

Hecate imprisoned Asharion for betraying one of her visions and using her power for his own aggrandizement.

Jon/Aryn is willing to make a bargain with Voss, who wants to be freed of his prison. He says that three artifacts will allow him to enact the rituals needed to become free. Voss casts a spell and purifies the lake of its corruption! We decide that we cannot, without help and a rest, confront Asharion. Voss gives a scroll listing the artifacts to Aryn, who accepts the bargain.

The centaur chieftain pays us half of the 500 gp reward, which we immediately spend on two days of debauch!
