Our two brave heroes have freed the king from the spikes in his throne, the king walks away without another word and disappears. After the king’s departure they hear a rustling sound coming from the courtyard. Unknowing if it is a trap, they cautiously peek into the courtyard to assess the situation. They find a female halfling attempting to sneak amongst the ruined remains. On approaching her she identifies herself as Ralina, here in search of treasures and she did not see a skeletal king on her way in.
Our two brave heroes decide to welcome her to the group and quickly brief her on the present situation, as much as they are willing to share. After the briefing the three decide to ascend to the second level in search of the Lady of Ferros with the attention of freeing her as well.
On the second floor the three heroes enter a garden that is grossly overgrown and in significant need of some hedging. (Oh, if only Mogget were here, she alone could appreciate such a place). In the middle of the garden lies the Lady of Ferros, her skeletal remains like that of her husband. She is lying on the ground and pinned with a large two-handed sword and wearing a crystal sphere necklace.
Action:
- Ralina attempts to take the necklace
- Lady Ferros awakens on the touching of the necklace and starts to stir attempting to remove the sword.
- Calgor smashes her in the shoulder with his mace in effort to stabilize her for negotiation
- Ralina drives the sword back into her chest pinning her to the ground
- Lady Ferros conjures a skeletal Corgi that attacks our heroes focusing on Calgor
- The vines come alive and capture the Razach.
- Calgor casts Turn Undead multiple times without success, eventually loses ability.
- Razach eventually breaks free with the aid of Ralina and attacks the Lady Ferros multiple times with Magic Missile with minimal success
- Struggle ensues
- A smell emanates from the flowers rendering Ralina unconscious
- Calgor unsuccessfully casts cure wounds, fortunately Razach is free and binds the wounds.
- The corgi finally succeeds in attacking Calgor and he is rendered unconscious, at this point Razach and Ralina grab him and flee from the second level securing themselves in the barracks room.
- Overnight it rains and puddle forms under the door. Calgor regains consciousness and nothing else of significance occurs. In the morning Calgor awakes asking if they succeeded in gaining the two-handed sword for his life mentee Burt. Sadly, they have not.
